Pendant with obsidian arrowhead PA1706
Native American-inspired pendant with a finely knapped arrowhead in a red and black non-translucent American obsidian. Copper ligature. Premium leather link to vegetable tanning. The clasp and its ring are hammered by hand in copper.
This Native American-inspired pendant is part of our new collection of prehistoric jewellery.
Its arrowhead has been finely knapped in an ancestral way in a red and black obsidian not translucent of America.
Legends, probably dating back to prehistoric times, tell that the obsidian is the protective firestone that keeps away evil spirits from its bearer. In addition, Amerindians who find a stone arrowhead say it brings good luck. It then becomes for them an amulet.
This is what we wanted to express with this jewel and so allow you to own a talisman.
The ligation of the arrowhead is made to measure with hand hammered copper.
The link is enhanced by bone and basalt beads. It is made of copper and leather.
The clasp and its ring are also hammered by hand in copper.
Copper was introduced in 2016 with our new clasps.
Used at the age of copper (chalcolithic) in Europe, by Amerindians and Inuit in America.
It is a material of choice for our prehistoric style jewellery that will take on a beautiful bronze patina over time.
Finally, nobody is allergic to copper because unlike many metals used in jewellery there is no nickel, cadmium or lead: it is 100% copper.
The leather of our prehistoric jewellery is a leather of first choice with vegetable tanning made by a European artisan. Its diameter is about 2 mm.
