Flint blade knife C1606
C1606 knife, with flint blade, engraved deerwood handle, deer tendon ligatures and rawhide sewn case covered with tanned deer hide.
Knife with a flint silex blade from Tourraine (France). The blade took on red highlights after heat treatment.
The handle is made of deerwood, glued to the blade with a prehistoric glue mainly made of resin. The ligation is performed with tendon covered with tendon glue. On this piece the patina is light! At the end of the handle I added a skin strap and a bone pearl.
I made the case in rawhide covered with tanned deer hide. Several pearls decorate it. The case is very soberly patinated for a perfect match with the knife. At the back a link allows to hang it on the belt. As an option, a skin strap can be added to wear around the neck or as a shoulder strap.
